World Day for Decent Work, marked this year by the pandemic

World Day for Decent Work

Last 7th of October, the thirteenth edition of World Day for Decent Work was celebrated. It’s meant not just to be a regular celebration, but also a day of raising awareness and vindication. This year, it was focused in the effects the pandemic is causing for workers. At New Tandem, we want to join this call for action. A call for action that looks forward to guaranteeing that all workers can develop their jobs under a frame of security, and, most importantly now, of hygiene and health.

Decent and safe work conditions, a commitment of New Tandem

At the beginning of this atypical 2020, we proposed ourselves to collaborate with a sustainable development in our labor environment. We set out ten measures, our particular SDGs, to reach that objective. The first of them focuses, precisely, in promoting fair work conditions, in safe and healthy environments for all New Tandem employees.

We are part of ASEMPLEO, the most important association of employment and temporary employment agencies. Every company that takes part in it defends the common professional interests of our sector. We all ensure good practices and law enforcement.

On our way towards a sustainable growth

The fact that New Tandem is one of the companies that forms ASEMPLEO means we commit to fulfill a common Ethical Code, that we asume and defend. Some of the aspects included in this document are especially crucial in these uncertainty moment as a consequence of COVID. The respect for a healthy and safe work environment, for labor rights, or for social responsibility, is an example of the only way in which we understand a company can and should function.

Right now, numbers are devastating. 400 million jobs lost and more than a million deaths worldwide. New Tandem compromises now to protect and care for our employees more than ever. Something key, first of all as humans, but also as firm defenders of a sustainable economic growth.
